CYBERJAYA, 15 August 2018 – MEX II Sdn. Bhd. today held Mega Toolbox 2018 at Maju Expressway (MEX) HQ in Cyberjaya. The event was officiated by Deputy Director (Business) of Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM), Dato’ Sr. Aziz bin Abdullah, and was launched with a Plaque Signing Ceremony by Encik Mohd Faiq Tan Sri Abu Sahid, the Managing Director of MEX II.

Mega Toolbox 2018 is an initiative under Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) which aims to avoid possible risks of danger at the work site. The event was held to promote compliance with occupational health and safety rules as well as the relevant policy within the company which also motivates the individuals to orient their behavior to the standards set by the management.

Other than the MEX II Project Team, Contractors and Subcontractors, several parties were also involved in the event. Representatives involved were Dato’ Sr. Aziz bin Abdullah, Deputy Director (Business) of Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM), Encik Mohd Anuar bin Embi, Director of Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), and Cik Mazurah binti Ismail, Manager of Safety, Health and Environment Division in Lembaga Pembangunan Industri Pembinaan Malaysia (CIDB).

There were four award categories that were presented during the Award Ceremony. The first award was ‘Anugerah Pekerja Cemerlang KKP’ (May-July 2018 session). Represented by Project Director of MEX II, Mr. Richard Whitehead, presented the award to 25 site workers from Maju Holdings Sdn. Bhd., Spring Energy Sdn. Bhd., Bridgex Sdn. Bhd., and Pembinaan Melima (M) Sdn. Bhd. The workers have shown high commitment towards safety and health aspects while working on site.

From the beginning of the project of MEX II until today, statistics show that there has been no major accident that could have caused injury to any of the workers. Hence, the award ‘1.5 Million Man-hours without Lost Time Injury (LTI) Achievement’ was given to the Main Contractor, Maju Holdings, represented by Dato’ Sri Mohd Fauzi Yon, the Deputy Group Executive Chairman of Maju Holdings, and was also given to all Sub-Contractors from Spring Energy Sdn. Bhd., Bridgex Sdn. Bhd., and Pembinaan Melima (M) Sdn. Bhd.

With the achievements throughout the whole development of MEX II, Maju Holdings proved their commitment by achieving a 5-star rating on safety and health aspects and received the rating for ‘Anugerah 5 Bintang Bagi Audit SHASSIC’ by CIDB.

For ‘Anugerah Cemerlang Bagi Audit Penilaian Pematuhan Perundangan KKP 2017 (LLM) [OHSAS 18001 : 2007]’, MEX II was given the award by LLM for having the best current site that is able to comply with the standard during an audit that was held on February this year.
