Dato’ Norashikin Ismail was appointed as a Member of the Board of Maju Holdings Sdn Bhd on 28 December 2012.
With more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources that began with a British multinational company, she made history when she joined Sony and broke the Japanese tradition by being the first lady to be promoted to lead a division. Subsequently, she continued her career in Emerson, a leading American oil and gas solution provider where she took up the role of HR Leader. Her portfolio covered HR functions for the Asia Pacific Region.
Graduated among the top of the class from the University of Nebraska, USA, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Management and Management Information Systems, Dato’ Norashikin carried with her a sterling performance track record in strategic HR, talent management and leadership development, process re-engineering, performance management, succession planning, employee relations and employee engagement.
Her last role with the Maju Group was as the Group Human Resources Director from September 2008 until December 2013. She was recognized as a ‘change agent’ within the organization where significant changes have been made. She introduced strategic HR practices in taking Maju HR to the higher level it is at today. She has proudly led her team in Maju to win coveted Malaysia HR Awards namely HR Excellence Award in 2010 (Silver medal), Employer of Choice Award (Gold medal) 2011 and HR Breakthrough Award 2011 (Grand Gold medal). For her remarkable contributions in HR and exemplary leadership, Dato Norashikin beat several top-notch personalities from leading local multinational companies to be awarded the HR Leader of the Year 2011 by the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management (MIHRM).
